my baby brother.

it is about time i had a whole post devoted to my best friend and baby brother. i know you're going to be surprised but... it is going to be more like a photo montage...as if don't talk about him enough, here we go...
Wade Taylor Barker
born on October 11, 1994 to a family that was in full swing... Lanie was a beautiful leader-in-training at the mature age of 9 and I was the free-spirited wanna-be cowgirl at 6. Mom & Dad were more than excited to welcome in a baby boy into this world.
As goes life, we weren't expecting the unexpected. Our baby boy was born with 4 congenital heart defects. They went unseen to doctors so we took our pride and joy home... but later dealt with the effects. Day 10. not our favorite. To God be all the glory for being fully present in our lives during this time. Without him, we would have been even more crazy than we already are...
okay, Im not supposed to tear up this early... lets fast forward past the 2 open heart surgeries and months of quarantine...We cannot imagine a life or a family without this boy...
... everyday, he makes us fall more and more in love with him.... he is an amazing best friend
dont you worry, he will bring just the right amount of comic relief, entertainment, and Joy to the party. These two photos never fail to make me laugh out loud! Wade, Im not even sorry for posting the right one... you know what it does to me.
oh he loves being outdoors! anything outside, he is ALL about. Hunting, fishing, 4-wheelin', farming, sports, training/playing with his puppy, Hoover...
I cant believe he is a licensed driver... what am I talking about? he is a better driver than any of us... (side tear: where did these last 15yrs go? we must be in 100mph mode)
Wade is just plain good at SO many things...
He has gleamed from Dad and taught himself how to play guitar! If I go a few weeks, he rocks my musical socks of how great he is... AND this boy can play some serious golf! Just ask Dad, a few years ago... the regular laid back golf outing turned into quite the competition! After transferring to Ezell 2 weeks before school started, he was a vital part of the golf team. Proud of that boy.

just a few legacy-like things to add:
first, Pa-pa & Mo-Mo. Wade was Pa-pa's shadow. A day spent out with Pa-pa was bliss for Wade. and as for Mo-mo, Wade is just... plain... perfect. From Day 1, she has spoiled her baby rotten with toys, love, and milkshakes. He would spend the whole summer in Kentucky and cry when he had to come home. what a Tough life for this child.
next, Dad. I love seeing their relationship turn more into a friendship everyday. They enjoy all the same things... learn from each other... and can spend the whole day "farting" around. Thank you Dad for the example and values you have set for your son. They will be paid back in return 100x and more, i promise!
Mom: Her baby. Wade is one of the only who can fully cater to mom. He drives her around as she changes the world one phone call at a time... and expresses an unconditional amount of patience and love. He has got her wrapped around his finger... its just too cute.

Lanie and I. He is our best friend and treats us as if we hung the moon. We didnt... but it sure is endearing to have such a sweet boy be your biggest fan! He is a little bit of Lanie (super intelligent, organized, competitive, driven, and caring) and Me (super free-spirited, silly, forgetful, talkative, chasing the party) but Wade is so much his own... the best part is he is like no other boy i know.

He is the sweetest gentleman, a sacrificial servant, a loyal brother & friend, and faithful Christian! He doesn't complain as I try to document his entire life via photos... sure hope he doesnt mind this post. As Wade starts to grow up, I have had to come to the realization that one day some chica will be smitten by him... thats fine! I'll.. be.. okay. She just better be scared out of her wits to meet his sisters and super careful with his heart. alright, enough of the intimidation... Send my sweet baby brother love today! He really is a miracle and blessing! Thank you Father.
